Kanye West: I’m the ‘No. 1 rock star on the planet’

By Tribute on September 25, 2013 | 11 Comments

When rapper and new father Kanye West sat down with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, he showed he’s definitely not insecure. The 36-year-old rapper told Zane that he was “the No. 1 rock star on the planet,” saying that he is here to push boundaries in music, fashion, culture and art. Kanye also views himself as a revolutionary. He credits his success to the King of Pop and said he has drawn inspiration from Michael Jackson and “there would be no Kanye West if it wasn’t for Michael Jackson.” However, Kanye believes he has reached a point in his career that the King had not witnessed in his career. He said: “I’ve got to a point that Michael Jackson did not break down. I have reached the glass ceiling, as a creative person, as a celebrity… and I’ve been at it for 10 years. I look around and I say, ‘Wait a minute. There’s no one around here in that looks like me.'” Even though Kanye believes he’s the best, he does envy longtime pal Jay Z and his success. “Jay Z is more realized than me. More of his dreams and aspirations have come true, you don’t realize — I am so frustrated. Like, I’ve got so much I want to give…And I’ve got a million people telling me why I can’t do it.” Kanye also opened up about his relationship with Kim Kardashian and their three-month-old daughter, North. He says his “private time” is family time. “She gave me everything, she gave me family, she gave me a support system. She was in a powerful enough situation where she could love me without asking me for money, which is really hard for me to find.” ~Brie Davis

He’s #1 and the bestest and saying better and bigger then MJ?! Yet being #1 and the best but yet Jay-Z has had more dreams and aspirations realized? Why envy someone else if you’re the pinnicle of success? shouldn’t Jay-Z be the envious one? Wow his head is huge and should fall off like a bobblehead doll. Boycott his music and let’s hear him change his tune.
