Zooey Deschanel got engaged after taking test

Zooey Deschanel’s fiancé proposed to her the day after she took a pregnancy test. The New Girl star, who recently announced she is expecting her first child with Jacob Perchenik, was shocked when he went down on bended knee after she told him the happy news. A source said: ”The day after Zooey revealed she was pregnant Jacob told her he wanted to marry her. It’s been a whirlwind romance, but they’re totally on the same page about their future.”

The 35-year-old actress is very excited to marry the 42-year-old producer and may even walk down the aisle with a baby bump. The insider told the U.S. edition of OK! magazine: ”They’re madly in love. She can’t wait to start their next chapter.” Zooey was previously married to Death Cab for Cutie vocalist Ben Gibbard for three years until 2012.

Following their divorce, she insisted she still believed in true love, but admitted she wanted to find someone more like herself. She said: ”My parents have been married for 40 years and my grandparents were married for 70 years. I come from a long line of true loves. I’d be more likely to go for somebody who is like me. Well, I like creative people, so whatever that means… Yeah, authentic and creative.”
