Rusty Hamer

Rusty Hamer is another child actor who did not make the transition to adult actor and because of it, ended up taking his own life. His starring role was as Rusty Williams, son of Danny Thomas on the highly popular TV series Make Room for Daddy. It ran from 1953 to 1964, followed by several reunion shows. This was his entire identity and with no roles and no skills in life outside of Hollywood, he took on odd jobs, but after enjoying fame as a child, he became depressed. At age 42 on January 18, 1990, he died instantly when he fired a .357 gunshot at his head.
