On-screen Lovers, Off-screen Enemies

Convincing actors channel emotions through their performances that elicit a response from audiences. Whether they travel to the darkest recesses of their minds in search of sadness, or recall a moment where they were overcome by pure, unbridled love, they’re constantly chasing feelings to draw on for their roles. This is no easy task, but it’s made especially difficult by a downright unlikable costar.

Check out our gallery of actors who played lovers on-screen, but secretly (or not…) harbored deep feelings of disdain for each other off-screen.
