OMAR EPPS
Date of Birth: July 23, 1973
A native of Brooklyn, Omar Epps is a graduate of the New York High School of the Performing Arts. He made his debut in Ernest R. Dickerson's urban drama Juice (1992). For a time, Epps ran the risk of being typecast, portraying athletes in a string of films. Nevertheless, his performances were consistently solid, and his work in John Singleton's Higher Learning (1995) was outstanding. Epps also has a brief recurring role as Dr. Dennis Grant on the television program ER. He has also played lead roles in films such as The Mod Squad (1999) with Claire Danes and Against the Ropes (2004), starring with Meg Ryan.
Behind the camera, Epps has also directed music videos for Heather B, Special Ed and his own rap duo Wolfpak.
