Mean Girls – New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into a new high school by a group of popular girls called The Plastics, ruled by conniving queen bee Regina George (Reneé Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). The Beekeeper – Adam Clay (Jason Statham) lives a quiet life as a beekeeper. Ironically, he’s a retired operative from a secret super-spy government agency known as “Beekeepers.” When an elderly friend dies by suicide after being scammed, Clay vows revenge on the scammers — a bloody mission that takes him all the way to the top. The Book of Clarence – In the year 33 A.D., while his twin brother (LaKeith Stanfield) has decided to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, Clarence (LaKeith Stanfield), a down-on-his-luck Jerusalemite, embarks on a misguided attempt to capitalize on the rise of celebrity and influence of the Messiah for his own personal gain. Click here for showtimes.

American Fiction – Monk (Jeffrey Wright) is a frustrated novelist who’s fed up with the establishment profiting from “Black” entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes. To prove his point, Monk uses a pen name to write an outlandish “Black” book of his own, a book that propels him to the heart of hypocrisy he claims to disdain. Now playing nationwide. Soul – Joe Gardner (Jamie Foxx) is a middle-school band teacher living in New York City, whose lifelong dream is to be a jazz musician. He can’t believe his luck when an audition leads to a gig that very night. As he’s walking home, elated by his success, he takes a misstep that sends him to a fantastical place where he meets 22 (Tina Fey), a soul who doesn’t think life on Earth is all it’s cracked up to be. However, to their surprise, they discover Joe is still alive, albeit unconscious in a hospital bed, and they rush to figure out how to get Joe’s soul back to his earthly body. Click here for showtimes.

Some Other Woman – Eve Carver (Amanda Crew) is whisked away to a tropical island by her husband’s work for what was only supposed to be a few months. But as the months turn to years, Eve is forced to give up her own dreams. Freud’s Last Session – On the eve of the Second World War, two of the greatest minds on the twentieth century, C.S. Lewis (Matthew Goode) and Sigmund Freud (Anthony Hopkins) converge for their own personal battle over the existence of God. Playing in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal; opens January 19 in Ottawa.
