Neil Young says he doesn't know anything about being scheduled to do a free concert at Yonge-Dundas Square during TIFF, and in any case, he's got other plans. According to the original TIFF schedule, Young was to give a free concert on Monday night, but apparently no one told him about it. His appearance was to coincide with a free screening of Jonathan Demme's second concert film about Young: Neil Young Trunk Show. Young told the Toronto Star by phone from his California home: "This is the first time I ever heard I was supposed to be there. I didn't know I was a scheduled event." Festival organizers are scrambling to find a “spectacular” performer to take his place on Monday.
