Event: The Hazelton Takeover – George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight
The Location: ONE Restaurant at the Hazelton Hotel
The Vibe: Positively joyous and classically Canadian! The restaurant and patio was overflowing with smiling happy people. Comedian Ron James got Ron MacLean chuckling away at an inside joke; Juliette Lewis took a moment to hop in the photo booth near the DJ table for some instant photographs.
Famous Faces Spotted: George Stroumboulopoulos (obviously), Steve Nash, Jeremy Renner, Juliette Lewis, K’Naan, Russell Peters, “Flashpoint’s” David Paetkau, Chantal Kreviazuk, Tara Spencer-Nairn
Best quote of the night: “I have to go sneak my sister in.” George Stroumboulopoulos said with a wink and a smile, excusing himself from a conversation to dash back out to the front entrance.

Event: “HELLO! Hollywood — Public Faces, Private Lives” - Hello! Canada cocktail party
The Location: The Royal Conservatory, Telus Centre for Performance and Learning
The Vibe: This cocktail party was quite the swanky affair! With bars on two floors, guests were able to explore the conservatory or head out to the balcony and enjoy the beautiful night (- this was before the rain came later.) while being serenaded by live music as well as a DJ. Bonus: one of the night’s sponsors was Dove chocolate, so some phenomenally rich cocktails were added to the drink list on top of the bowls of the little chocolate squares littering the room.

Event: The Artists for Peace and Justice Fundraiser
The Location: PEARS on the Avenue
The Vibe: Caitlin Cronenberg’s photography exhibit remained intact at the venue and was joined by photos of Hollywood A-listers during their trips to Haiti. Unlike its previous nights the room was much brighter with a lot of white décor, highlighting the APJ Tree of Hope.
Famous Faces Spotted: With hosts like Paul Haggis, Maria Bello, James Franco and AnnaLynne McCord do you really need more famous faces spotted at this event? Alright, we’ll also give you Martin Sheen and Josh Brolin.
Memorable moment: AnnaLynne McCord telling the story of her involvement in APJ and her first trip to Haiti. The young star was emotional as she told stories of touring the slums of the country and meeting children hoping to be adopted.
