Canadian leading men Ryan Reynolds and Keanu Reeves have been spotted in the city, ahead of their premieres tomorrow night at TIFF.
Reynolds, who was seen at a press conference today for his “claustrophobic” film Buried, is set to walk the red carpet at its premiere at Ryerson tomorrow night - a film in which he is the only onscreen actor.
In the film, Reynolds plays a U.S. civilian truck driver on a contract assignment in Iraq, but when his convoy is attacked by Iraqi insurgents, he’s knocked unconscious and awakens to find that he’s been buried alive in a coffin with only his wits, a cigarette lighter and a BlackBerry to save him.
Meanwhile, Keanu has been seen around town, ahead of the premiere of his film Henry’s Crime at the Visa Screening Room on Tuesday night.
The film centres around a man who, after serving three years in prison for a bank robbery he did not commit, decides to rob the bank for real. His plan involves infiltrating a local theatre company, but his scheme gets complicated when he falls for the company’s lead actress.
Also expected at TIFF this week are Canadian actors Jay Baruchel, set to walk the red carpet for the premiere of Good Neighbours on Tuesday night at the Varsity, and Ryan Gosling, whose film Blue Valentine is set to screen at Ryerson on Wednesday night.

Anybody think Buried looks kinda like 127 hours?
I have the same thought for both: Neither Ryan Reynolds nor James Franco are strong enough actors to pull off that much screen time alone. Hope I'm proved wrong, thought! Both movies look pretty cool.
I've heard that the two films are similar (in that they both feature only one actor for all or most of the film). Not sure I'm ready to see 127 Hours - all the fainting stories have freaked me out! Want to see Buried though - I've heard its a fantastic performance by Ryan.
