After a weekend of star-studded premieres, the fifth day of TIFF is shaping up to be just as thrilling for movie fans and celebrity spotters.
At 2:30pm, Rachel Weisz is expected to walk the red carpet at the premiere of The Whistleblowers at the Elgin Theatre. The political thriller, which also stars Vanessa Redgrave, David Strathairn and Monica Bellucci, tells the story of a female Nebraska police officer turned peacekeeper who uncovers a disturbing sex-trafficking underworld in Bosnia and its shocking connection to the UN.
Later, Freida Pinto will be at the Ryerson at 6pm for the premiere of Miral, while Catherine Deneuve will be premiering Potiche at Roy Thomson Hall at 6:30pm, and Helen Mirren brings Brighton Rock to the Winter Garden Theatre at 8pm.
At the Elgin Theatre at 9pm, Rabbit Hole, starring Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart will have its world premiere, with both expected to walk the red carpet.
And, the much-anticipated ballet thriller Black Swan will have its North American premiere at Roy Thomson Hall at 9:30pm, with star Natalie Portman scheduled to attend.
