Deepa Mehta returns to TIFF this year with her latest film, Midnight's Children, which she describes as a coming-of-age story that parallels the issues with India. Tribute.ca engaged the Canadian filmmaker on every aspect of the production, from collaborating with infamous novelist Salman Rushdie on the screenplay to working with the actors and shooting in Sri Lanka.
