Last night Tribute attended a screening of Una at TIFF. This is the first feature film by Benedict Andrews, and it was adapted from David Harrower’s prize-winning play titled Blackbird.
Before the beginning of the film, Benedict and the film's star Rooney Mara gave an introduction to the film, which ended up starting at about 10 p.m. Rooney is pictured second from left in the photo and Benedict is third from left.
Rooney stars as Una, a young woman who confronts the middle-aged man who had sex with her when she was only 13 years old. With both of their pasts ruined by the incident, she tracks him down to his workplace 15 years later to confront him.
After the film, Benedict and Rooney came back onstage, and answered a few questions from the audience. Rooney, who seemed a bit shy, was asked a majority of the questions, which ranged from the morality of the film to her connections with her co-stars.
Una will be making its European premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on October 9, 2016. ~Natalia Makarski
