The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2023 Industry Conference has announced its lineup, covering six pillars — visionaries, dialogues, perspectives, connections, microsessions and spotlights.
With all sessions taking place at Glenn Gould Studio, this year's Industry Conference will bring together a diverse group of voices and perspectives, allowing film fanatics to find their favorites and learn about different statures of the industry.
“This year’s event offers something for everyone, whether you are an emerging creator or experienced producer, and its scale and curation supports our growing industry attendance,” said Geoff Macnaughton, Senior Director, Industry and Theatrical.
With guest speakers like Spike Lee (25th Hour, Chi-Raq), Lulu Wang (The Farewell, Posthumous), Ladj Ly (Les Misérables, Athena), and Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, The Shape of Water), the star-studded Industry Conference will covering many different cultures and aspects of film.
Within the visionaries conference, the conversation will follow individuals who continue to develop creative and business-led roads throughout the industry. The dialogues conference speaks on the art and craft of storytelling, with screen-based creators and industry professionals including directors, producers, and series creators. From the perspectives conference, the focus will fall on the current state and future of the film industry.
“Our Industry Conference aims to be a pivotal platform for thought-provoking discussions by industry leaders,” said Anita Lee, TIFF's Chief Programming Officer. “The sessions and speakers reflect our commitment to diverse perspectives and creative exploration towards sparking innovation within the industry.”
