The Toronto International Film Festival kicks off on September 9 with the world premiere Gala Presentation of Score: A Hockey Musical, written and directed by Michael McGowan (One Week, Saint Ralph). Attention sci-fi fans, there are new alien creatures coming to town! The buzz is that first-time director Gareth Edwards' movie Monsters (D-Films)—which has garnered accolades at various film festivals this year-will be at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
Fans who are aching to get their creature feature fix will be happy to see this sci-fi film which follows a group of alien creatures living in present day in an area known as the "Infected Zone."

To mark the celebration of our new home, TIFF will launch its first major exhibition and film screening programme in Fall 2010. Dubbed

Essential Cinema, the show will divide into three parts: Exhibition, Film Programmes, and Special Events. The complete film list is attached.
The Exhibition, opening the week of September 12, 2010, will fill the atrium and gallery spaces with iconic objects and images from the history of cinema, as well as internationally acclaimed contemporary artworks drawing from or inspired by the most influential films.
