Brilliant con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) and his equally cunning and seductive partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) are enjoying conning people together, with Sydney posing as British royal Lady Edith Greensly, when they're caught by FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper).
Although Sydney wants to make a run for it, Rosenfeld has an outspoken young wife (Lawrence) who's threatening to take their son away from him and he doesn't want to lose him. DiMaso forces them to join him in taking down Carmine Polito (Jeremy Renner), the charming mayor of New Jersey, but to do so, they enter a world of politicians and mafia that becomes more and more dangerous, the further they go into the set up to the con.
what a BORING movie. no action at all. pure talk, talk and talk. lots of chest action from Amy Adams though but that's it.
very good movie with a great script, cast and look....the director however has a tendency to have his movies drag at times, which also happens here. Nonetheless, a good film.
