Comedian Movie Synopsis

Jerry Seinfeld is once again a working standup comic. A unique and engaging look at what it took for him, and by extension every stand-up, to get there. Neither a concert film, nor a biographical documentary, Comedian closely examines the birth of a comedy act and offers a window into the details of backstage life and the challenge of making people laugh.... as Seinfeld, like all working comics, embarks on a neverending mission to answer the question "where does comedy come from?" and carve out the second act in his already highly successful career.

Great, shows Jerry as his real, sometimes tortured self which his show rarely did. I also loved the way that comedy was revealed as an art form with all the trappings, jealousies, and moments of brilliance.

Comedian showed the sadness behind the "happiest career of all time" that most comedy groupies, like myself, knew existed. However, it showed the in`s and out`s of stand up that I never would have found unless I found the balls to do it myself. I loved the juxtaposition of veterans Klein and Cosby, pro`s Seinfeld (and friends), and the newby Adams.

I am rating Comedian with 5 stars myself. I am so glad that they produced it the way that they did to show people the ups and downs of being a stand up comedian. I do stand up comedy myself and it is tough to get up there and be funny all the time. Many bombs come with the laughs. James Worley James@JamesWorley.com www.JamesWorley.com
