Achille, 13, looks forward to his father Joe’s release from prison, while his mother Penelope tries to rebuild her life with his boss. When the day arrives, the romantic gentleman gangster the boy pictured his father to be doesn’t correspond with the unrepentant ex-con he meets. Even so, Achilles wants his parents to get back together. Just when he believes he’s succeeded, Joe's inability to adapt puts everything at risk.
