Fear of Water Movie Synopsis

Îles-de-la-Madeleine. Rosalie Richard, the daughter of the mayor of Cap-aux-wheels, is found dead, the victim of a brutal rape, at the foot of a cliff. Unaccustomed to this kind of investigation, André Surprenant, the sergeant of the Sûreté du Québec, goes over the evidence and finds that he's very much suited to this type of work. This comes much to the displeasure of Detective Sergeant Gingras, who's been brought in from Montreal to solve the case in his own way. Denigrated by his colleagues, with the exception of his patrol partner Genevieve, who's secretly in love with him, André also has to deal with the mood swings of his teenage daughter, with whom he lives alone since his wife left. While the investigation reveals that the young victim was involved in drug trafficking, André rejects the obvious and pushes the investigation beyond the limits.
