Nicky (Sandler) is asked by his father (Keitel) to take over the family business.
The trick to this inheritance is what his dad does for a living: he's the devil. His
first task is to go out into the world of the living in search of his brothers, who
left Hell after an argument with their father (they wanted to rule Hell but he didn't
let them, so they decided to make a little Hell on Earth). Along the way, Nicky meets a
mortal woman (Arquette) who he falls in love with.
