O Brother, Where Art Thou? Movie Synopsis
This musical is based in the Depression-era deep South, and is focused on three escapees from
a Mississippi prison chain gang: Everett Ulysses McGill (Clooney), Delmar (Nelson), and Pete
(Turturro). The three embark on the adventure of a lifetime as they set out to pursue their
freedom and return to their homes. With nothing to lose and still in shackles, they make a
hasty run for their lives and end up on an incredible journey filled with challenging experiences.
However, they must also match wits with the cunning and mysterious lawmen, Cooley, who
tracks the men, bent on bringing the trio back to the prison farm.
Outstanding performances from the entire cast in a clever collection of plot sequences, each of which presents a complete, self-contained entertainment. I would have preferred them not to fiddle with the colour but it is,in my estimation, a full five star film that failed to garner the oscars it deserved; but this just puts it in good company with other excellent films that suffered a similar fate - I have in mind "The Hill" and "Topsy Turvy".
THE BEST SHOW I HAVE SEEN IN YEARS!! WE ALL ENJOYED THE VIDEO AND PLAN ON BUYING IT THIS WEEK. LOVE CLOONEY AND HIS CROONEY`S .LOL GOOD JOB BOYS... WOULDNT MIND SEEING CLOONEY IN A YRS LATER VERSION OF GONE WITH THE WIND.. WITH CLOONEY AS RETT BUTTLER.
Hilarious, clever, fun, full of colorful characters
