A down-and-out trumpet player (Mickey Rourke) finds redemption in the form of a beautiful woman (Megan Fox) who works as the Bird Woman in a circus. He falls madly in love and persuades her to run away with him only to find that life is a little more complicated than simply living one's fantasies.
Passion Play has a kind of David Lynch tone and feel to it. Unfortunately, the opening is a bit disjointed and abrupt -- but I'm guessing that's to get to Megan Fox' character more quickly. It would've been nice to have given a little more time to developing the Mickey Rourke character and his situation first. Good performances from Mickey Rourke, Megan Fox and Bill Murray. Some really nice and tender scenes. Unfortunately, the movie also seems to run out of steam late in the second act. But I liked the ending, even though I saw it coming. Overall, I did enoy it and would recommend.
