The Emperor And The Assassin Movie Synopsis
In the 3rd Century BC, Ying Zheng (Xuejian), heir to the Kingdom of Qin, seeks to dominate the remaining six Chinese kingdoms. Ying sends his concubine Zhao (Li) to the Han Kingdom to become the lover of his adversary and to enlist an assassin who can eliminate him. Ying's strategy is to seem invincible. Zhao persuades the assassin Jing Ke (Zhang), but falls in love a complication Ying did not count on.
For me this film was riveting, even though long. Cinematography excellent, costuming excellent, atmosphere excellent. Just beautiful...and having to read subtitles didn`t decrease it`s overall effectiveness. Probably not for all audiences, but I think it was well worth the time spent.
