Using a nighttime blizzard as cover, seven prisoners, caught up in Stalin's Reign of Terror in 1940, escape a Soviet Gulag. On the run, with little food or equipment, they have to cross an unforgiving landscape. They're not even sure which way to go or where they're headed, but what they do know is they're free—for now—and they must keep moving.
Best movie of the year!! I normally avoid survival movies. They are depressing. But this one was different. Like real life it showed the beauty of nature and the human spirit in spite of ugly circumstances.
