It certainly is the end of an era, Adele, it certainly is.
The world collectively fainted when news broke that Angelina Jolie had filed for divorce from husband of two years Brad Pitt, and apparently, even Grammy-winning pop stars aren’t immune to the shock.
On Tuesday night, Adele addressed the “elephant in the room” as she brought up the power couple’s unexpected split during her concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In fact, she went so far as to dedicate her second night at the arena to “Brangelina.”
According to several concertgoers, the platinum-selling British crooner was visibly upset over the breakup news as she called the A-listers’ divorce “the end of an era.”
TMZ was first to announce the news of their split early Tuesday morning, claiming that Angelina was “fed up” with Brad’s weed consumption and alcohol, and that his “anger problem” could be dangerous for the kids. Rumors of infidelity have also surfaced, with Brad now being linked to his Allied co-star Marion Cotillard.
Angelina’s lawyer Robert Offer confirmed the news on Tuesday, releasing a statement that read, “This decision was made for the health of the family.” Brad released his own statement: “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”
