Bill Murray’s wife seeks divorce

By Alexandra Heilbron on May 30, 2008 | 18 Comments

Bill MurrayJennifer Butler Murray has filed for divorce, claiming that her husband, actor Bill Murray, physically abused her and “hit her in the face,” telling her she was “lucky he didn’t kill her.” The papers were filed were Charleston County, where Murray is a co-owner of the Charleston RiverDogs baseball team. The Charleston Post and Courier broke the news. Jennifer Murray also accuses her husband of drug addiction, abandonment and adultery, and is reportedly seeking a restraining order barring him from her home, where she’s lived with their four children, ranging in age between seven and 15, since 2006. This is Murray’s second marriage — he also has two children with his first wife.

There’s 2 sides to every story. He does look awful…..I guess when you don’t take very good care of yourself, and too much work and stress this is what we could look like in the future.

Bill Murray does look awful in that picture. I don’t like wife beaters. There is always two sides of every story though. Did Jennifer really think she was going to change him? He never hid that he was a party animal.
She did get the rewards (at least for a while) of being Mrs. Bill Murray. If it is all his fault and he abused her and the marriage, I hope that he pays for it. But there is always the side that he is worth money and divorce settlements can pay.

    Food for thought

She will get a divorce settlement anyways, whether they split on bad terms or not!!

I agree with all the comments. First Robin Williams now Bill Murray, who’s next?

It’s a good thing this didn’t end up like Phil Hartman. Sad tradegy that was.

Well there is always two sides to a story. And it sounds a little fishy to me. She never claimed abuse untill now. And lets not forget here she signed a pre nump So she needs to claim something to get more money out of him.

    How do we know there’s a pre-nup?

Bill what the hell were you thinking? If this is true and has not been all blown out of proportion as is usual in the media then Shame on you Bill.John Belushi would roll over in his grave if he finds this to be true!! Please Bill say it ain’t so.

Steve I don’t know what got into me. I’m sorry Steve but it I have to say it is so!

Your stressful life puts you into situations that sometimes are hard to live with. You need to take a break and get your head in order Bill. If they can forgive Jimmy Swaggart for what he did then we certainly should forgive your missdeed.”We are none of us perfect and if you are then you are a liar!!”

  15. Nancy • June 7, 2008 @ 8:13 PM

Sorry but, there are some things that I DON’T forgive, personally. One of which is woman beating!!!

  16. Steve • June 9, 2008 @ 5:30 AM

I hope you would feel the same way if it was a woman doing the same to a man!!

  17. Nancy • June 9, 2008 @ 9:04 AM

Of course I would! Why wouldn’t I? I don’t think it is right at ALL, man or woman.

  18. Nancy • June 9, 2008 @ 9:06 AM

We don’t really hear much about women doing that kind of thing to men but, I know that it does happen and it is not acceptable, either way.
