David Beckham has mastered the art of entrepreneurship over the past decade, and now he’s landed another major deal: Scotch whisky. The soccer stud and his manager Simon Fuller have teamed up with British alcohol company Diageo to launch a new product called “Haig Club,” a Scotch with hints of toffee and butterscotch. Beckham will play a big role in the promotion and brand development of this new product, and the drink is expected to hit stores later this year. Beckham released an official statement to show his excitement about his latest venture, saying: “I’m proud to be working at the heart of a homegrown brand which has built an incredible heritage over 400 years.” One of Beckham’s main priorities is to promote responsible drinking, but it seems like one charity isn’t buying that. British alcohol awareness group Alcohol Concern feels that by promoting this product, Beckham is sending out a misleading message to his younger fans. Is this endorsement harmless, or do you agree with the charity’s concerns? ~Yara Matar
