Inception continues to dominate box office

The new thriller Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, held on to the top spot at the box office, taking in another $27.5 million in ticket sales (all figures $U.S.) for a total of $193 million in earnings in North America. Tribute viewers rated the movie 4.1 out of 5 stars. The new comedy Dinner for Schmucks was No. 2, earning $23.5 million in its debut at the box office and a Tribute Viewer Rating of 3.9 stars. Salt (Tribute Viewer Rating: 4.2), dropped a spot to third place, earning $19.5 million. Despicable Me (Tribute Viewer Rating: 4.3), dropped one spot to third place, earning an additional 15.5 million for a total of $190 million in four weeks. Rounding out the top five was the new drama Charlie St. Cloud starring Zac Efron, which earned $12 million. At the Canadian box office, Inception was also the top movie, but Salt beat out Dinner for Schmucks for second place. Despicable Me and Charlie St. Cloud were ranked fourth and fifth.
