Justin Timberlake: I had imaginary friends

Despite a successful career as a singer and actor, Justin Timberlake isn’t embarrassed to reveal things from his earlier life. “I had imaginary friends,” the actor said while opening up about his childhood during a CNN interview. “I was weird. I grew up in a small town, and I definitely felt like I was an individual, always,” he said, crediting his early childhood experiences as a key part of his success. “I grew up an only child and I’m always kind of like — you know, when you grow up that way, it’s like you get all the perks, but you also get all the responsibility. Like there’s no one else to blame the vase getting broken on.” The Mickey Mouse Club alum recently reunited with his boy band ‘N Sync at the VMAs, and claims it wasn’t only for the fans. “I just thought it was a nice tribute,” he said. “We’re not going to go on tour. I mean, I’m glad people were excited about it, but funny enough, it was more for us. It was more for us to enjoy that moment because I felt like really in my heart, shared that award with those guys.” Justin can be seen on the big screen on October 4 with Runner Runner, and the follow-up to his hit album The 20/20 Experience, aptly named Part 2 of 2, is due to be released later this week. ~Raj-Kabir Birk
