The world uttered a collective, "huh?" when Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes began dating in April 2005. He was a devout Scientologist and one of the biggest movie stars in the world, and she was a born-and-bred Catholic who was known for starring on the WB series Dawson's Creek. The couple wed in a lavish ceremony in Italy November 2006, and their strange pairing lasted until June 2012 when Katie suddenly filed for divorce. Their whirlwind romance may not have stood the test of time, but it at least produced two things: an adorable daughter named Suri, and one of the greatest TV moments in history (Hint: it involves Oprah and a couch).
