Scarlett Johansson cleans her face with cider vinegar.
The Lost in Translation actress admits the product can be "harsh" on skin, but she has discovered it is very effective at keeping zits at bay.
She said: "I researched natural skincare and found that apple cider vinegar is really effective. Using it as a toner can be harsh, but if you have breakouts it can be really healing."
The 28-year-old beauty has favorite fragrances, but doesn't stick to the same ones at all times. She said: "I love Dolce & Gabbana Desire - it's a very feminine fragrance that's best worn at night. For day, Bourbon French Parfums in Louisiana has these essential floral fragrances. I like to mix." And the Avengers star also recommends using lipsticks with built-in conditioners to get her trademark stand-out red lips.
She added in an interview with ELLE magazine: "Dolce & Gabbana Passion Duos have conditioner on the inside so if you like to wear red or coral lipstick, like me, you're not using a dry red, which can be chalky."

I have actually heard of using cider vinegar, but didn’t know anyone who had actually tried it. This method is probably a lot cheaper then other toner products on the shelves!
Add some salt and she is a tasty treat.
She can wash her face in dog pee and I’d still kiss her all over lol.

Heard of using regular vinegar diluted in water as a final hair rinse for shine and static but never heard of any type on your face!
Eh, I tried it before and for me personally it wasn’t very effective. It just broke me out more and made my face….as red as an apple, actually.
I used organic and it still was just…eugh. Awfully.
Opt out and just use Oxy brand benzoyl peroxide face wash instead. Worth the 5 bucks, same price as a bottle of the vinegar crap. >:T
Just because something works for one person doesn’t mean it will work for everyone but I would defiantly think this one would be worth a try. I think the idea is that you wash is with the vinegar and then rinse with water, which would make it a wash instead of a toner, like she said as a toner it can be harsh. Vinegar can do some pretty amazing things though which leads me to think that it would be effective. It works well to clean and soften clothes and hair, you would think it would do the same for your face. Plus the smell of it goes away after it dries and its cheap:D
I use vinegar on my face. I use it in my hair while in the shower. I scrub my face with baking powder because it loosens the dirt while not stripping my face of oil. Then I message diluted ACV on my face to get into the pores, then rinse. It keeps the pimples to a minimum in my prone areas. Then after my shower, I message a little bit of grapeseed oil in. It absorbs easily and doesn’t clog pores.
I’m 76 and have great skin that everyone comments on and often people who need age info…like medical personnel…think they’re dealing with the wrong woman. And boy, does that make me feel good.
I almost never wash my face with soap. I wash with moisturizer that I use like a liquid soap and then rinse off with a face cloth which exfoliates my skin. Most good moisturizers work well. I use Oil of Olay Beauty Fluid. Doesn’t have to be expensive stuff. Rinse it well and then put a coat of it or another moisturizer under your makeup.
If you’re not putting on makeup all the better… but moisturize! I like to go at least one day a week without makeup. Moisturizing is the most important thing you can do for your skin.
If you get a zit I found a remedy recommended on Emily Noel’s YouTube page. It’s called “Clean & Clear persa-gel*10″…MAXIMUM STRENGTH. I use a tiny bit of it 2 or 3 times a day on each zit. It’s really good at drying them up.
Be careful about using too much of it because it’s VERY drying. If your skin starts peeling cut back on the use. Be sure and read ALL of the instructions on the tube… there can be side effects. But it really works for me.
Treat you skin as if it was your best friend and it will be good to you, too.

This is really not a big deal at all. Diluted ACV is a nice rinse after using a natural ‘shampoo’ on your hair.
Many women who are into “natural beauty care” use ACV and other “weird” food ingredients. If you knew all the nasty carcinogenic ingredients that go into mainstream personal care products, you’d probably switch to something more natural too. I myself wash my face with extra virgin olive oil. I will never go back to conventional facial care products.
I am so confused by Clair’s statement above…. She is 76 years old and yet she is giving advice to what she uses on her pimples? wtf?

It can even get rid of unwanted moles too 😉
I’ve used ACV as a toner (1 tsp per pint of filtered water) for several decades and it seems to work quite well (as well, I add in flower remedy drops to support “life” work, cause I live in BC and we’re required to exhibit at least a 13% flakiness factor or we’re not allowed to stay.)
ACV is also excellent for easing and healing sunburns (why weren’t you wearing sunscreen!?) and, taken internally (1 or 2 T in a glass of water), for a number of digestive difficulties. Look it up, but use your intelligence. Moles, indeed. ;>
