Some of the finest supervillains have taken residence in Toronto to shoot the upcoming film, Suicide Squad. On Wednesday, director David Ayer tweeted the first cast photo of the cast and this photo has been the talk of the town ever since. Taking a break from the table reading, the director revealed some of the film’s major players: Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jay Hernandez, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Adam Beach, Jim Parrack, Ike Barinholtz and Karen Fukuhara.
One notable villain was missing from the photo — Jared Leto — who plays the Joker. Fans began speculation over the absence of the star, promoting the hashtag #whereisJared.
In response, David tweeted a photo last night of the green-haired villain who is unmistakably Jared Leto. Devoted fans will recognize the photo as a tribute to the cover of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s graphic novel “The Killing Joke.” Suicide Squad is set to release on August 5, 2016. ~ Marriska Fernandes
