Tom Cruise signs deal for Mission: Impossible 5

Tom Cruise, 50, will once again take on his Mission: Impossible role as Ethan Hunt in a fifth installment of the action series. Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions have both confirmed Tom will produce and star in the next film of the franchise. Tom told Total Film, “I started Mission Impossible hoping I could make many of them. It’s a character I can grow with.” Tom has certainly grown with the films, taking on the challenge of doing his own stunts. In the last film, Mission: Impossible 4, the actor performed a death-defying stunt on the world’s highest skyscraper in Dubai. The Burj Khalifa skyscraper stands at 2,717 feet. “It’s been pretty exciting,” Tom says about the franchise, “Seeing an audience respond… to have that experience is really wonderful. I’ll make as many as people want to see, because they’re very challenging, and so much fun to make.” ~Sarah Dos Santos
