RANDY QUAID

Date of Birth: October 1, 1950

Before Texas-born Randy Quaid began showing up as the white trash buffoon in the National Lampoon movies alongside Chevy Chase, he appeared in a bunch of movie gems that garnered him a lot of attention. The first role that generated a Randy Quaid buzz in Hollywood was his portrayal of Cybill Shepherd's wanna-be suitor in The Last Picture Show. He followed that up with excellent performances in such films as Paper Moon, The Last Detail (for which he received an Oscar nomination) and the Canadian film based on the Mordecai Richler novel, The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz.

But then along came his younger -- and more attractive -- brother Dennis to confuse the Quaid equation. To confuse matters even more, the two brothers even appeared together in The Long Riders. However, the elder Quaid continues to work steadily in character roles in films and on television. In 1988, he won a Golden Globe for his performance in the TV production LBJ: The Early Years (1987). He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on October 7, 2003 at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard. In 2005 he received an Emmy nomination for his supporting role in the miniseries Elvis.

Quaid married second wife Evi in 1989. He has a child with his first wife, Ella.
