MARK BROWN
This native to Birmingham, England relocated to the States to receive his
film education from Howard University in Washington D.C., followed by the
American Film Institute.
After school, Brown focused on his writing, creating a number of screenplays
that never made it to the big screen. He was successful, however, in
having his telefilm, Quincy's Jook Joint, produced for HBO. By 1997,
Brown received his first feature film credit with the romantic comedy, How To Be a Player. This film was quickly followed by a re-make of the
classic, The Wizard of Oz (1998) which starred Snoop Dogg and Kari Harper.
By the start of this millennium, Brown decided to take another part behind
the camera and made his directorial debut on the film Two Can Play That Game (2001), which he also wrote.
