I love Julia Roberts, but this movie is long and drawn out. this show a woman with a lot of money and little common sense.

User review rating: 4 August 26, 2010

A nice character study

User review rating: 4 August 25, 2010

Loved Julia Roberts

User review rating: 4 August 25, 2010

Enchanting travels that soothe our souls and minds. Julia Roberts showed us that she is a very good actress.

User review rating: 1 August 25, 2010

Nice photography but that's pretty much it. This movie shows the problem of purpose-less life too common in the Western world. No need to go to India to find a meaning to your life, though.

User review rating: 3 August 25, 2010

Acting was mediocre, although Julia Roberts portrayed her character well. I found the beginning to be slow, however halfway through the movie it picks up and gets more interesting.

User review rating: 1 August 25, 2010

I'd give this zero if I could. I couldn't force myself to stay for the whole thing. Don't waste your time or money!

Eat Pray Love is a joyful, inspiring and happy movie (even though I shed a few tears). Having read the book..twice, I was concerned the movie would not properly reflect the book. Although the book focused more on Liz Gilbert's siritual journey, I could see where that might not translate on the big screen. The film adaptation was exceptional and caught the essence of Liz's experience! The casting was excellent. Julia Roberts was a bright light, Richard Jenkins as Richard from Texas and Javier Bardem as Felipe were perfectly cast. I can't wait to see Eat Pray Love again....soon!

Great girl movie!!

User review rating: 4 August 24, 2010

A good attempt to cover all Liz Gilbert's journey. I didn't feel any chemistry between Julia and Javier.

User review rating: 3 August 24, 2010

It was ok, not my cup of tea

User review rating: 3 August 24, 2010

The Only good thing on this movies are the locations that it's been film their

User review rating: 1 August 24, 2010

This has to be one of the most boring movies I have seen in a long time.... I love Julia Roberts, but this movie was terrible.

User review rating: 2 August 24, 2010

Boring and too long. It is a good at home rental and also good for anyone who needs a "nap".

User review rating: 4 August 24, 2010

If you read the book and you're watching the movie; just forget abou the book. This is a completely different experience. As far as the director tryed to keep it close to the book you might find some gaps and eventually get disapointed. So, just relax and enjoy the trip. Jilia Roberts provides again an amazing interpretation and you'll be sweept away by the scenery, the food and the love (less than the readers expected).

User review rating: 3 August 24, 2010

The movie was enjoyable but I strongly suggest you read the book first because it is so much better!

User review rating: 3 August 23, 2010

I though this movie was alright, not the best ive seen, but its not the worst

User review rating: 5 August 23, 2010

I loved the movie! Can't wait to read the book.

User review rating: 4 August 23, 2010

the scenery was great. Julia was good but something was lacking in the movie. I liked it but ??

User review rating: 4 August 23, 2010

The book is still better, but the last third of this movie makes up for it. Definitely go see!

User review rating: 5 August 23, 2010

I saw a little bit of every single one of my girlfriends (including myself) in this movie.

User review rating: 4 August 23, 2010

Julia Roberts brings some depth to the character of Liz Gilbert that not many actresses could have done. Though I don't agree with the choices made by the protagonist in Eat Pray Love, I understand the desire to find oneself, to seek what is thought to be missing. A good story with an incredible and eye-opening portrayal of the three countries Liz visited in her quest. It certainly makes you want some good Italian food afterwards.

User review rating: 4 August 23, 2010

This was a very nice movie for women, however if your a guy then I advise you to sit back and try to hold on to what will be left of your manhood!!!

User review rating: 2 August 23, 2010

I didn't care for the book because I couldn't get "into" the main character. The great scenery made the movie a little better -- still didn't care what happened to the main character.

User review rating: 2 August 22, 2010

I wanted to love this movie but unfortunately I found it to be sorely lacking. Julia Roberts' character appears as a whiny, unlikeable sort who needed to just get on with her life (with all those delicious opportunities, she still didn't know what she wanted in her life). Another point was the lack of creativity in the cinematography. I have been to Italy and there didn't seem to be a tribute to the beauty of the country. Bottom line...I'll read the book and I'm sure like many book/movie pairings, it will be better.

User review rating: 4 August 22, 2010

It is spaghetti porn. Anything you are eating during the movie suddenly doesn’t taste as good as anything you see on screen, nor does anything you eat afterwards, unless you are lucky enough to be able to eat authentic Italian food.

User review rating: 5 August 22, 2010

Excellent movie! I loved the whole meaning behind the story. Julia Roberts was great as always. The scenary was breath taking.

User review rating: 2 August 22, 2010

Thank for the nap. Boring and does not justice to the book.

User review rating: 4 August 22, 2010

loved it, however, carefull it is not a guy movie. my hubby hated it. too slow, not enough action...too many feelings . However, worth going by yourself . All around good job doneby all.

User review rating: 5 August 21, 2010

Wonderful movie. Loved, loved, loved it!

User review rating: 4 August 21, 2010

The movie was a bit too long and some parts were slow. Overall, interesting to learn about the different countries and Julia Roberts is as lovable as ever.

User review rating: 4 August 21, 2010

Pretty good movie, easier to keep in tune with than the book

User review rating: 1 August 21, 2010

It was absolute S-H-I-T. Don't see it. All it is, is two hours of your life you will never ever get back.

User review rating: 4 August 21, 2010

I read the book so while I thoroughly enjoyed the movie (the beautiful landscapes, delicious food and endearing friendship) I missed seeing some of the more moving moments of the book on the big screen. With that said, I would still rate this a 4 star movie!

User review rating: 5 August 21, 2010

Loved the scenery and the music

User review rating: 5 August 20, 2010

JULIA ROBERTS IS THE PERFECT ACTRESS FOR THIS ROLE. LOVED THE BOOK

User review rating: 0 August 20, 2010

Eat, Pray Love, is the Best movie of the Summer, so far. The cinemetography is surpurb, the acting is great and look for that very cute Actor, which I am certain, will get an Oscar nomination. I am now looking forward to seeing this movie, for a second time. For those of you wh are sensitive, remember to bring a few Facelle Royale tissues. It's a movie for anyone, is over the age of 16 years of age. Enjoy, All.

User review rating: 0 August 20, 2010

I would rate this movie a ***** Five Star Movie, not a **** Four Star Movie.

User review rating: 5 August 20, 2010

Julia Roberts is fantastic in this movie and carries it very well. It is a great story that many of us might want to do ourselves.

User review rating: 3 August 20, 2010

Good chick flick.....nothing special.

User review rating: 3 August 20, 2010

I enjoyed it, but it dragged on a bit, nice feel good story, one for the ladies to see with girlfriends..probably worth waiting to rent

User review rating: 2 August 20, 2010

Movie was boring...i couldnt wait for it to be over it dragged on and first third of movie was bearable but the rest of the 2 thirds was horrible!

User review rating: 4 August 20, 2010

The book is better, but the movie captures the story well. It's worth watching just for the underlying message.

User review rating: 3 August 19, 2010

based on a best selling book that I read--it not aperfect adaptation but an enjoyable movie with the secenery of three countries--Italy-India and Indonesia--worth the pric eof admisison--Julia Roberts was perfect in her portrayal of Elizabeth Gilbert--after a marriage and boyfriend break-up decides to take a year off by traveling to find herself--mainly geared to women but may appeal to many!

User review rating: 5 August 19, 2010

Wow great movie !!!! I read the book and it was a good match to the movie.

User review rating: 4 August 19, 2010

I am a sucker for love, food, and beautiful scenery. It was long, and could have been cut down, but I endured. Six of us went, two hated it, two loved it, and two were on the fence, so it all depends on the person watching.

User review rating: 0 August 19, 2010

Your interviews are terrrible; the halting discourse with both actors are most difficiult to follow, if noy impossible to decipher. Please redo them again.!!!!

User review rating: 5 August 19, 2010

It was beautiful, must see this summer.

User review rating: 1 August 19, 2010

Thought it would be fun to see this movie with my friends as I knew this was not a movie for my husband.I kept dozing off it was soooo boring. We finally left after a hour into it. Just could not take any more waiting for something good to happen.

User review rating: 5 August 19, 2010

Not only was the photography incredible, it shows the progression of human beings in love, life and god. Eventually, all humans look inward, the outside no longer satisfies them and they begin their quest for the "light"
