More than following a good movie plot, it is an exciting ride. Great movie!
Beautiful film
Thrilling, even if it ignores the principles of physics.
It was very thrilling and startling. Like a horror movie almost.
20 minutes into "Gravity" -- which is incidentally around the time the first cut occurs; yes, the film opens with an exceptionally long take -- I figured this premise would make a fantastic short film. And, it did. At 20 minutes, I was so hooked that a fire could have broken out in the theater and I might not have noticed. It is so beautiful and so captivating that you find it hard to even blink. You want to stare into the vast abyss forever, and you want to watch the two leads, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, get to do the same. Of course, they only get about ten minutes in before things start to go wrong. Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) is on her first trip into space, while Lt. Matt Kowals
The best I can say about this movie is that it was short. The effects were good, as was the acting. But I just didn't care.
very good movies
STRANGE, when I said no one give 4 stars and all of a sudden, the 4 stars came, STRANGE SOURCE OF RATING. still the same comment, SAVE YOUR MONEY.
First things first. I am a space nut. Not a trekkie, trekker or world class Star Wars fan (although I enjoy them all). But hard core space exploration...awesome. The Right Stuff, Apollo 13...that rocks. But I didn't want to watch this at first in fear of being really disappointed. So then I read some reviews from the people who know the real deal...astronauts, and they reportedly loved it. So I bought a ticket... I wish we had IMAX because I got what I wanted. I needed to escape for 90 minutes, and not think of me (and what is going on in my life) and it delivered. Having been a commercial diver, I can relate to her situation where your in a foreign environment and things go bad an
Excellent visual efects but simple script. Suspense and despair to the edge! Good movie!
Strange rating report as no one gave it with 4 stars. Save your money.
Horrible film, it is not made for everyone. Thumbs way down!
i serousel hated this it was treible
Totally unbelievable, many inconsistencies. Shooting through space with a freaking fire extinguisher? Puleeeease! Space stations destroyed with shrapnel still pressurised and full of oxygen?
visuals - good. rest of movie - way, way overrated. don't expect a story, is all effects. acting is nonexistent. story is silly.... lots of convenience. amazing how long bullock can pant and squeak in a spacesuit that has no oxygen.unless maybe she's an alien ...
I followed the news and heard it was good movie. Very disappointed, not worth of my time. 2-3 stars NO MORE...
Amazing movie. Feels authentic as if you're really in deep space with the characters. Shots of Earth are awesome. Sandra Bullock was great. George Clooney was not: he played the same role he did in dozens of his previous films (for example, Peacemaker, or Oceans' Eleven etc). He didn't act at all. Same Clooney.
Grate
Great visuals...Thats where it ends..... don,t waste your money........
Great visuals, but not that exciting.
I don't know what all the fuss is about, it was a pretty boring one half and a half hour. There is Not much to the plot. Only great thing about the movie is the cool visuals, but u get over it after 15 mins
Visually stunning but I agree with many of the other reviewers that plot and performances are lacking.
movie was okay but left me wanting something. Real astronaut's gloves have no where near the flexibility as in the movie and they wear diapers in spacewalks (in case). Found most of the movie boring with a few tense moments while debris is flying all over (even though real space junk is much smaller). Best part = Sandra Bullock has a GREAT bum !
Honestly, I can't see what all the fuss and gushing 5 star ratings are about. It's okay, but it's not great. The visuals are really stunning, and kudos to Sandra Bullock for basically doing the whole movie with just her, but... I didn't really care about whether or not she survived after about three-quarters of the way through. I tend to want a little bit more from a story than what I found here.
Good, not great: 3/5. Acting mildly OK, but panicking and breathing hard in a space outfit for most of the movie does not equate to acting in my books. Visuals amazing, story line lacked much depth.
Not bad movie some what short but OK, i wouldn't saw it alone but it was showing at the Barrie drive inn with the prisoners flick Sandra was good, since she won bullock has step it up, check out my review of hugh jackman new flick
Awesome film; do yourself a favor and find an IMAX 3D screen to see this. Very tense action, the music used to build the tension is great.
I've enjoyed watching every minute of it.
Save your money.Mildly, and I mean mildly entertaining.Wait to rent it for $3,then you MIGHT get your moneys worth....
This Movie is nothing less than spectacular. The Special Effects are out of this world. The pacing is spot on, By Far the Best Movie that was made in a very long time. Definitely a must See..
Hey Guys, stop putting 5 stars to mislead people wasting their money and time. It actually score 0 star if the Sandra and George is not in the movie.
I just saw Gravity in 3D this afternoon. The visuals are absolutely stunning. Really, I can't think of a movie that makes better use of special effects. It really looks like you are in space... ... But the story definitely could used another pass-through by the writing committee. The story itself is about the level of a disaster TV-movie. Clooney and Bullock do a great job with what they've been given, but the story just isn't that logical. Any space program buff or science geek will spot a half-dozen gaffes that ruin the realism of the story. I'd give the visuals a ten out of ten, but the story itself is a middling five.
The short run time doesn't feel like it. It seems perfectly fine. The visuals are beautiful, and the score is sublime. Acting is really good, and the 3D is o.k., could have been more, but still good. One caveat, this film needs to be seen in IMAX 3D. Like Avatar, it deserves the biggest screen for the fully immersive experience, and you won't be disappointed. Take from this film buff, with a home theatre and love of the movies, this is worth the price of admission, and the extra IMAX dollars, for sure. Don't see it any other way, this is a flagship flick for the format. Highly recommended. I'm off to see if I can pre order the 3D blu-ray already.
I went in with mild expectation. A little hesitant to believe Sandra Bullock could pull it off but wow did she ever. This movie blew me away with everything from the acting, audio, visuals and 'real-feel.' First movie in a VERY long time that had me legitimately saying 'Wow' throughout the screentime.
Fantastic film with stunning visuals, suspense, drama, and solid acting. It wasn't claustrophobic as depicted in the trailer. Worth seeing in 3D!
I'd be curious to hear why someone would give this movie 1 star. Visually stunning and well acted, if you love anything to do with outer space you'll love this movie.
Sandra Bullock always gives us the best preformance of her career each and everytime she plays the role of the leading lady in each film. Plus I have a hard crush on Sandy !
looks amazing cant wait till it comes out
Amazing movie! I'll gladly see it again.
