This is what I call a conversation film. You get excellent dialogue, excellent characters talking about various topics. It was a really great film. Brilliantly acted and brilliantly written. That scene where Dermot Mulroney critiques his lover, wow!! Unlike anything I have ever seen in a film.
This is one of those movies that results in great conversation between the sexes, as it portrays some fairly stereotypical behaviour from each sex, which, in the larger plot context, leaves motives open ended (IE is this character purposely acting insecure to obtain something else, or are they really that insecure). Great movie - definitely reccomend for anyone wanting something a little more engaging then the run of the mill action fest.
i think this was a great movie. I loved the dialogues between the characters. I thought all the actors did an outstanding job, especially the young up and coming actor jake gyllenhaal. He is going to be a big star.
