  • 3 stars You probably won't find this film playing anywhere else in Toronto, so enjoy the small screening room with springy seats at The Kingsway. The film itself isn't bad. I imagine the book was better, even though I haven't read it. The lack of Portuguese actors and any spoken Portuguese made it difficult to "connect" with the story, but, all in all, it's an interesting story set in a time in Portuguese history that gets little attention...at least in Canada.
