Has Deteriorated in Recent Times

August 22, 2019

I've had a few bad experiences here of late. One time I ordered a hot dog with nachos and the worker gave me one that was too large, the wrong item (apparently). I had my hand on the edge of it obviously, and the worker rudely put his hand right on top of the food and grabbed it away. "Like they would be able to give it to another customer" and it would or should have been put in the garbage, so obviously they should have given it to me when they realized their mistake. Most recently, I sat at the back with my friend and there were two young men sitting there. They then proceeded to answer the phone and talk and take messages. I finally told them to quit it and they did, and they left within half an hour, not coming back. I can't prove it, but I think these two guys were employees waiting for their shift to start which explains why they left so soon. Also, it seems that all the employees working there before are no longer there, and there is different staff who are all one nationality. Thunder Bay is a multi-cultural city, where people are polite for the most part, and this business should reflect this in their staff and manner. I walk in there and I feel like I'm not even in Thunder Bay! Whenever I go it seems there aren't a lot of people there going to movies. One other problem is sitting in the back you often hear the workers talking in the camera room. Movies are sometimes too loud such as musicals. Speaking of food, I often don't eat there anymore because I feel ill afterwards, I think because of the oils they are using. I sure hope Thunder Bay doesn't lose its theatre like some other communities!! There used to be such good customer service there. Please show the family films here. I am disappointed that Overcomer is not coming to this theatre.

Staff don’t listen

October 08, 2018

I pay for extra butter, and then I have to remind them to put it on. Some times I forgot to remind them and every time they forget. I get all comfy in my seat, start eating my popcorn and there again and again again every time. The staff doesn’t listen,Or maybe they just don’t give a dam, that I paid for extra butter. I go to the movies once a week, but am really considering staying home and watching Netflix or streaming a movie. It’s cheaper,Its warmer at my house, don’t have to get out of pyjames and I NEVER forget the butter on my popcorn. Plus the bathrooms you can smell the stench has you walk by.

Brutal

August 02, 2016

I love movies...but the experience here is usually awful. Getting tickets is stupid...and hope your car doesn't get robbed while you are checking out a flick.

Need Security !!!!!!!!

May 03, 2016

As a regular movie goer, it's getting a bit tiring being approached in the parking lot by people wanting money, then being extremely rude when turned down. Also I see most times these same people going around and seeing what vehicle are unlocked. Where is your security, this isn't a one time problem, its constant. When you do approach a staff member they seem very uninterested and say there is nothing they can do about it. Really?????? This area is becoming unsafe at night with people wandering through the parking lot and they aren't there to see a movie. Please do something before someone else gets hurt.

No more texting

September 02, 2013

General overall experience was fine. The use of cell phones is still rampant.Saw a movie the other week and must have counted at least 10 different people using their cell phones. Where are the ushers? and when we have seen the ushers come in, they don't look around they go to the wall near the screen, not sure if its a sign in area or not. We have stood up and pointed at the cell phone users and nothing is done. Its very distracting and ruins the experience for the people who want to be there. Some seats are starting to show wear, rips, stains, not pleasant at times. Ohh and really sticky floors. The concession lines could be more proficient, at times it has taken more than 10 mins just to get a simple popcorn and pop. Perhaps they should sell popcorn and pop on carts so help with the lines. The lobby of the theatre, is rather boring and does nothing to invite or attract a movie goer. The theatre is starting to look outdated with the use of colour and design. I have been to movie theatres around the world and they have been amazing places and a wonder to look at.This one in Thunder bay represent a bare minimum in attractiveness and should be updated.

SECURITY NEEDED NOW!~!~!!!!!!!!

October 16, 2015

I have never been to a theatre in a city of this size, where i see people walking around and going through vehicles, and when more than one person went back inside to complain the young staff kept saying its not our problem, we don't own the parking lot. Well you do own a business that uses the parking lot and you have an obligation to keep your customers safe. We have been approached on many occasions where people are asking for things and wouldn't leave until we threatened to call the police. As the only theatre you make more than enough money from the people of this city , hire full time security that stays on the property and not just drives by once and a while. We won't be back, since the threat to yourselves and our vehicles is too big of a risk.

Tickets

April 18, 2017

Why do we have to line up in long long lines just to get tickets along with people getting popcorn etc. I just want my ticket not anything to eat, so why do i have to line up with the masses, and it takes forever just to get your tickets as the concession is sooooo slow. Could you please keep the ticket booth at the front open, so the majority of us can just line up to get tickets and not concessions. Thank you!!

dirty theatre

July 24, 2014

dirty dirty theatre please clean the floor and clean the dirty seats and sticky disgusting floors. To help with long concession lines how about selling popcorn in the area just outside the theatre area, makes it more convenient for the movie goer and helps with the long lines.

No more texting and security needed

February 21, 2014

There hasn't been one time where we have gone to the show without having to ask people around us to turn their phones off as their screens are distracting. You hardly ever see an usher and if they come in they don't even look around, we have complained more than once and it seems the ushers are shy about and find it hard to ask the people to turn their phones off. As for the theatre itself, its getting old looking, outdated colours, the lobby is quite boring looking, nothing inviting..long lines for food and drinks, sometimes up to 20 mins, and now we have to contend with having our vehicles broken into and spray painted. It has happened more than a few days in a row...where is the security????? I do think with the high crime rate in this city that security is needed, we have also seen on occasion people drinking from bottles and nothing was done. We wont be back and others have said the same until we know our vehicles will be looked out for when we are viewing a movie.
