Tribute’s Bonnie Laufer-Krebs sat down with Emily Mortimer at TIFF ’09 to talk about her role in Daniel Barber’s Harry Brown.
In Harry Brown, Mortimer plays Frampton, a detective struggling to deal with the violence in a very rough neighbourhood in England. Her deep belief in the law and its ability to protect the innocent make her an excellent foil for Harry Brown (Michael Caine), an aging ex-soldier who has decided to take the law into his own hands after the death of his best friend. “It was just amazing being in a film with Michael Caine,” Mortimer tells Tribute. “And all the better that it’s a film I’m proud of.”
Mortimer also talks to Tribute about working on the new Martin Scorsese film, Shutter Island, with Ben Kingsley and Leonardo DiCaprio.
