Geoffrey Rush & Charlotte Rampling Interview - The Eye of the Storm

This year marks Geoffrey Rush’s fifth visit to the Toronto International Film Festival in a row. The actor admits that he’s very proud of the projects he’s been doing and is happy to be back in Toronto. Rush and actress Charlotte Rampling sat down with Toni-Marie Ippolito of Tribute to discuss their work in the new Fred Schepisi film, The Eye of the Storm, adapted from the novel by Patrick White.

Rampling tells Tribute that she was excited to bring such a complex character to the screen and have the opportunity to portray her character at two different ages in the film. She also discusses her work on the upcoming psychological thriller I, Anna, and Rush says that he will be heading back to the theatre to work on the stage production of The Importance of Being Earnest.

Rush and Rampling carried the whole interview; it might have been nice had the reporter bothered to do a bit of research on these two extraordinary actors before she bothered to ask them questions worthy of their response. Beyond the fact that Rush makes it a habit to attend TIFF, what else did she bother to find out about either of them?

    Very amateur effort.
