Augustine (George Clooney), a scientist located in the Arctic, is all alone except for a little girl he found named Iris (Caoilinn Springall). He is trying to contact a team of astronauts (Felicity Jones, Kyle Chandler, David Oyelowo, Demián Bichir and Tiffany Boone) who are looking for another planet that can support life. He heads out into the blizzard with Iris to locate a stronger antenna that will reach the astronauts.
