In September 1944 in German-occupied Holland, Rachel (Carice van Houten), a beautiful Jewish woman, joins the Dutch Resistance after a series of events leaves her without home or family. Dying her hair blonde and assuming an Aryan name, Rachel infiltrates the local Gestapo office by bedding its head officer Müntze (Sebastian Koch). Although Müntze discovers Rachel is Jewish, their relationship continues. Both are soon caught in a web of deceit, as the line between heroes and villains blurs.
