Mad Men: The Complete Sixth Season
Roger’s mother dies, and during the funeral his daughter attempts to use him to boost her husband’s business. Peggy excels at her new job, and she starts to act more like a dictator. Don and Megan are still married, but he’s secretly involved with their neighbor – no surprise there. Pete and his wife host a dinner party, which leads him to pull a move out of Don’s book and seduce his neighbor’s wife. Trudy finds out about her husband’s indiscretion and kicks him out. Megan reveals a big secret that she’s been keeping from Don – her pregnancy and miscarriage. Peggy’s newfound power brings her at the forefront of an ad agency war, as her old and new firms battle for a big client.
A dinner meeting between Don and Megan and one of her acting coworkers and his wife ends up in the former couple being propositioned by the latter, but the bold proposal is shut down by Don and Megan. Everything is set aside when news of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination breaks, and news reports occupy all television airtime. Joan’s sexual favor from last season ends up going to waste, as the fate of the Jaguar account is now in jeopardy. Don’s flashbacks start to haunt him once again, but his agency moves forward and gears up to sign new clients.
A series of events ends up with Don and Betty having sex, and Joan must make a decision concerning her son and his father. Don and Megan’s marriage continues despite his many faults, and his agency keeps chasing big clients. He suddenly finds himself torn in between the truth about his past and the direction in which the future is taking him. The season ends with big truths coming out and surprising plot twists.
