Angelina Jolie won’t celebrate Thanksgiving

By Alexandra Heilbron on November 24, 2010 | 6 Comments

Thanksgiving is usually the time that families get together and celebrate and of course, pig out on turkey. Hollywood’s most famous family of eight, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Company may not be celebrating Thanksgiving. A friend of Jolie told PopEater.com that “Angelina Jolie hates this holiday. She definitely doesn’t want to teach her multi-cultural family how to celebrate a story of murder.” Jolie reportedly has very strong opinions about Thanksgiving and does not want to take part in the story of the settlers dominion over the Native Americans. Brad Pitt recently told EXTRA that they will “whip up a turkey somewhere,” but as to whether Jolie will allow for it is another issue. The actress “wants no part in rewriting history like so many other Americans.” Everyone knows where Jolie stands on social justice issues and humanitarian efforts so this really doesn’t seem out of character for the mother of six/actress/UN ambassador. ~Chantelle Rodrigo

I guess the 4th of July and Veterans day have to much blood on them for her to celebrate those either

I say the kids are too old to be hurled up in the arms like they are here. This is why kids are weak and have no0 imagination. People like this sicken me because they treat kids as if they are cult objects. It’s just not healthy.

On another note, So I am right Jolie is a bit*h and this proves my theory. Brad Pitt basically said he celebrates but his “wife” won’t allow him to celebrate. I say she is a stuck up no talent actress.

STOP TREATING KIDS LIKE THEY ARE CULT OBJECTS DAMMIT.

shes a “bit*h” because she doesnt want to celebrate a day that is actually about murder and not about giving thanks? i dont see how that makes her “a stuck up no talent actress”.

if she has such strong views about this holiday her husband should support her views. if they want to be thankful for all they have, let them be thankful the other 364 days of the year. i didnt hear her say she isnt thankful for everything she has, did any of you?

ohh forgot to include, i agree these children are too big to be carried, but perhaps its easier when youre a celeb to carry your children then to wonder if they are safe walking on the ground where any nutcase can grab them and take off.

I’ve pointed this out before, but if it was even a little bit true wouldn’t you have heard about it a long time ago already? Thanksgiving comes around every year!

This is directed to Mandee and other people who do not know. After teaching history at Columbia University in the States for six years, here’s your answer dumbass.

The Pilgrims, originally English Separatist fled to Holland to escape religious persecution. With little religious tolerance and wanting a better life, they came to America by way of the London Stock Company trying to populate the American colonies. They reached Plymouth in 1620. There, they had to face a terrible winter. Around 46 of the original 102 had died by the next fall. But fortune turned in their favor and the harvest of the next year was bumper. And the remaining colonists decided to celebrate with a feast — including 91 Indians who had helped the Pilgrims survive their first year. It is believed that the Pilgrims would not have made it through the year without the help of the natives. The feast was more of a traditional English harvest festival than a true “thanksgiving” observance. It lasted three days. There was no murder, no pillaging or raping. It was a celebration of two distinct groups of people surviving and prospering. Don’t be an idiot and regurgitate popular press bullshit based on no merits or fact. Be an educated individual.
