Anne Hathaway eyes Catwoman spinoff

By Tribute on July 25, 2012 | 9 Comments

According to Anne Hathaway, spinoffs of The Dark Knight Rises are expected to begin soon, as long as Christopher Nolan is involved. Hathaway plays Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, in the film. Previously, Nolan has mentioned that a Catwoman spinoff could work, but it’s uncertain if he would ever take on this project himself to make it a reality. “Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She’s really built it from the ground up; it’s just a delight to watch her perform,” Nolan told Access Hollywood. “She’s an incredible character and we’re very excited to see her and hopefully we’ll leave people wanting more.” On the subject, Hathaway admitted in an interview with Digital Spy, “If [Nolan’s] interested, I’m very interested. I think it would be lovely to see more of her, but only if it’s with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City, and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least.” Though it remains uncertain if a Catwoman spinoff will become a reality, it’s obvious that there’s no shortage of enthusiasm for the film. ~Isabelle Khoo

Spin-offs are mostly lame. Quit while you’re ahead Anne.

Exactly. DO NOT DO IT! It’s not that strong of a character. It’s not like the remaking of the Hulk or Superman! they already tried this and it doesn’t work no matter how sexy she is in the suit.

Dark Knight Rises really wasn’t that good, some of the dialogue was so badly written and delivered. The story jumped all over at times and it all felt very disconnected to watch. That’s just my opinion though, did anyone else notice this? I mostly blame the script, not Bale, Hathaway, Nolan, etc in particular. Avengers all the way for me, which is disappointing because I figured they would at least be on part with each other.

she stole the film as catwoman imho. the best thing about the picture, easily, which given the male-centric personality of the character, was no small feat at all. she could rock a sequel, but i doubt nolan wants to visit gotham again after three trips there,at least not until he makes one or two other personal films hes interested in making.

We hear this after every BATMAN movie. I predict there will be no spinoffs, but we probably will get a tv movie or miniseries about the massacre in Colorado.

Hathaway should keep her hair long if she wants to look her best.

Anne Hathaway with her own Catwoman spinoff?! Yes please! Too bad Nolan keeps saying he won’t touch Gotham again.. at least not for a while if anything

MovieGoer, you probably felt that way because they covered so many months so quickly. They barely showed anything from the siege at all.

This trilogy was AMAZING but I’ve never seen a good spin off. Don’t think there really is one. However, I trust Nolan to make even the worst idea brilliant.

And Anne Hathaway really surprised me. She did an excellent job.
