Singer/songwriter Avril Lavigne wants to try acting, just like Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. The Canadian rocker is in talks with Sony BMG to play a lead role in a thriller feature film. Because her acting experience is limited, they want her to play close to type—“white trash,” according to Pagesix.com.
Avril Lavigne sucks. Seriously she’s just a punk skater chick that only the kiddies like. She is spoiled and a whiny brat.

Firstly, I do not see why all of you are so angry at her, what did she ever do to you. Its not like she’s Paris Hilton. Secondly, the thing with her makeup is that she wants it to look that way because it’s dramatic and different.
Maybe instead of focusing on her appearance you should listen to some of her lyrics. For someone as young as she is, she writes some powerful stuff. Check out KEEP HOLDING ON or SLIPPED AWAY. I think she’s an amazing talent.
If you were in her position you would want to try and do a movie too! Let her do it. I bet a million people trashed will smith before he acted and look at that guy now… he should be prime minister of the universe. All i’m saying is that everyone wants to trash any musician who attempts acting because they are a tiny bit jealous. I admit, i am!!!!
I agree with “bossman” – Avril doesn’t know how to apply make-up. I’m sure she has someone doing it for her – but what the #$@#$@ She does look like trash. What’s with the racoon eyes? Where are you Mac girls and guys ?? Come to Avril’s aid.
She is not a punk skater chick, she is a poser. Punk skater chicks do not, even on their most feminine day, wear frilly dresses and spew sappy lyrics like that. There is a Canadian singer/songwriter piano player named Chantal Kreviachiuk(if that’s spelled right!) that took her under her wing in her L.A. house and “mentored” her(in actuality, wrote those songs, check out her tunes, way deeper!)
Avril never was and never will be accepted by the “real skater world”, as that image was made up by her handlers to sell records to over-dramatic rich tweenies who have everything in life, and want to pretend to be sad or lashing out.
There’s more skater stuck to the pavement in the hunks of phlegm that I have coughed up while skating. What a joke!!!

If you check out her performance in “Nobody’s Home”, I don’t think she’d be that bad an actress. I don’t hear many people complain about Justin Timberlake acting. Don’t think Avril will be as good as Alicia Keys, but I’d like to see her act. Check Alicia Keys in “If I Ain’t Got You” video. Now she can act.

All you people who keep bad mouthing celebrities ought to have your heads examined. At least they’re doing something with their lives and trying new things. Let Avril try her hand at acting (she’s already done a character voice in Over The Hedge), if she bombs then so be it. She still had the courage to try. I wish I had half her talent. I’ve been told I can sing really well but, I’m still stuck singing karaoke. Look what she’s already achieved and she’s only 22 years old!
