Basinger denies releasing voicemail

Kim Basinger denies she leaked the now infamous voicemail in which her ex-husband, Alec Baldwin, berates and threatens their 11-year-old daughter, Ireland. Her publicist, Annette Wolf, released a statement Monday that read: “Kim Basinger did not release the voicemail. Additionally, the voicemail was not sealed under a court order.” The voicemail originally appeared on tmz.com last Thursday and made headlines around the world. The statement goes on to say that Basinger hopes Baldwin gets help for his “unstable and irrational behavior.”

Sometimes children just push our buttons the wrong way. I’m not defending Alec Baldwin, because I don’t really know the whole story. I admit, I’ve called my daughter(13) worse in a moment of anger.

Kim Basinger should be ashamed of herself as should her X. She is using her daughter and that is shameful. As for the releasing of the voice mail she might not have released it herself but she knows it was someone in her camp and she sanctioned it! No doubt about it!!! Imagine that being released to embarass her X and her poor daughter is now the laughing stock, one should have thought long and hard before allowing the release.

If it wasn’t sealed under a court order, what would it matter whether Kim released the voicemail or not? If anyone talked to my daughter like that, the whole world would know about it!! It’s disgraceful that her own father would verbally abuse her like that and batter her self esteem. Baldwin should lose his visitation rights altogether. He should also have been charged with threatening, as more than once in that voicemail he warned that he would show her a thing or two for not answering her phone when he visited her on the 20th. What did “I’ll show you” mean exactly? The girl doesn’t answer her phone when Baldwin calls because obviously she doesn’t want anything to do with him. She’s 9 years old, she can make decisions like that. I’m sure his abuse of that child is not a one-time incident. Kim also states abuse as a reason for terminating her partnership with him. I’ve always been a fan of Alec Baldwin as an actor, but now I never want to see another movie with him in it. Good self esteem is very necessary for any child. Damage that, and you can damage the course of the life of that child. It’s terribly important to any little girl that her father thinks wonderful things of her…….that she is a pig doesn’t quite make the grade.
