The Dark Knight posterThe Dark Knight grossed $155.3 million (all figures in US dollars)in ticket sales this past weekend at the box office, more than even the highest estimate of how it would do (Warner Bros. estimated $90 million, while box office analysts predicted $130 million). This was the biggest three-day take, passing the record set last year by Spider-Man 3, by $4.2 million. The No. 2 film at the box office was Mamma Mia!, starring Meryl Streep, earning $27.6 million. Hancock, starring Will Smith, dropped from second to third place, making $14 million. Journey to the Center of the Earth also dropped a spot, from third place to fourth, earning an additional $11.9 million. Last weekend’s top ranked movie, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, took a beating at the box office, dropping to fifth place with only $10 million in earnings.

I dident really enjoy this movie. I know other people did, I like Batman, the character is awesome, this movie just felt like it was missing something. I hope the next one is better, and that I will enjoy it.

  6. Super-bat • July 21, 2008 @ 11:54 AM

The next one should mention superman, that way it can be left open for a batman superman movie.

they shouldent introduce robin as a sidekick, he should be introduced as anouther vigilantie. Whoteams up with Batman, then by the end robin goes off to become nightwing, or the teen titans. They have to have robin in it sometime. He is part of Batmans History.

Excellent movie. Heath Ledger did a Fantastic job as the joker. The character was played exactly as it should have been. Certainly crazy with a dash of eerie. I have seen the movie twice in as many days and will be seeing it again in IMAX shortly. The Spiderman movies can take a lesson from these an try and stay closer to the story lines presented in the original comics.

    Two Cents Given…

    Quick Poll:

What Villain would you like to see in the new instalments of Batman movies?

    1) Riddler
    2) Penguin
    3) Poison Ivy
    4) Cat Woman
    5) Harley Quinn

  12. tammy • July 21, 2008 @ 1:33 PM

Definitely two-face and penguin I’m excited to see who plays these characters

  13. fakejoe • July 21, 2008 @ 1:54 PM

I would like to see the Riddler and Harley Quinn. Let Batman face a female villian.

  14. bubbles • July 21, 2008 @ 4:05 PM

If you pay close attention in the movie it’s hinted that the next villain will be Cat Woman.

  15. fakejoe • July 21, 2008 @ 4:45 PM

prove it bubbles, there is no hint’s.

  16. MD • July 21, 2008 @ 6:33 PM

“The suit can even protect you from cats.”

  18. fakejoe • July 21, 2008 @ 7:09 PM

That dosent prove anything, catwoman isent even a villan, she’s a vigilantie just like batman, only she’s not afriad to kill people. Keep her out, and bring robin in.

    Joker, Lifeless,
I am so with you on your comments on Ledger, he was amazing, yes, an eerie presence on the screen, even better than I thought he would be. This was one movie where all the praise showered on an actor was well deserved, he didn’t disappoint. Yes, may he rest in peace. Far too young to leave us, such a talent.

Lifeless, my vote would be for the Penguin. Good poll, interesting comments.

How about when you make number 3 you have good fight scenes this time the hand to hand combat was horrible..Even if Bale trianed in the KC fighting method..The choregrapher never even implemented it properly looked like it was all punches done in the worst way..We have to remember that Batman dos’nt need to be practical using the KC Method becouse he reached the top of human potential his physical prowess exceeds any human capabilities so it would of been nice to see the Batman Kick some real ass nothing worth going to watch it again expect for The “Joker Performance wich was ASMOME!! (I know my spelling sux)hehe.. And Bale can kick ass USE HIM!!!And they Even killed Micheal Jai White Could of been a good fight scene thier oh well..

I have a couple of things to say. 1. The Dark Knight was an AWSOME movie and Heath Ledger did an AWSOME job as joker and may he rest in peace. 2. I think that riddler wouldnt be bad in the next batman movie. 3. I dont think they should add robin nor catwoman yet but whatever they do im sure it will be good. Oh yeah, and scarecrow would be good too as a villain. AW MAN i wish heath leadger was still alive he was SO GOOD!!!

  22. fakejoe • July 22, 2008 @ 10:13 AM

Scarecrow was already used, I don’t want to see him agine in the movies. The Riddler and posion Ivoy. Let’s make batman Green.

  23. sk8tergirl • July 22, 2008 @ 1:11 PM

Man, I want to see this one. I’m hearing so much about it!

  24. G • July 23, 2008 @ 8:43 AM

I would love to see Riddler. I though Jim Carey did a good job in that role even though that Batman and Robin movie was crap.

  25. fakejoe • July 23, 2008 @ 10:31 AM

Jime carey was in Batman forever, not Batman and Robin.

  26. tammy • July 24, 2008 @ 9:09 AM

Well scarecrow didn’t die so it would be kind of cool if he came back for revenge … and I also like Jim Carey as the Riddler…

  27. fakejoe • July 24, 2008 @ 9:32 AM

Scarecrow was already in both, he dosent need to come back for a thired. He was good in the first one, the secound was just a cameo. Plus he’s gack in arkyum now. He won’t be back.

  28. fdgf • July 24, 2008 @ 10:24 AM

they could have robin in the next movie, without having to do a whole background story. in the dark knight they show how harvey dent became two-face in like a short time, why not with robin. Everyone knows how he became robin anyways.

  29. tammy • July 29, 2008 @ 3:16 PM

i don’t think that was the same scarecrow in the dark knight that was in the batman begins…
