Bill Murray wins Pro-Am PGA Tournament

Caddyshack star Bill Murray, 60, and pro golfer D.A. Points, 35, teamed up to win Saturday’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, beating out world ranked golfers such as Steve Marino and Hunter Mahan. Points is a big fan of Murray’s and asked to play with him. Murray has entered the golf tournament for 20 years and his antics are considered one of the highlights. This year he wore several different hats, at one point donning a huge red Elmer Fudd-type cap. Points said, “All week people kept saying, ‘Boy, you got the short end of the stick playing with Murray, he’s so crazy, he’s going to do all this stuff.’ But I never, ever felt like that…He seemed to just be having fun and telling me to go ahead and have a little bit more fun.” This is Points’ first PGA win and he said, “It’s a dream come true. To win on the PGA Tour, especially at Pebble Beach, and especially with Bill Murray, oh, gosh, I don’t think I could dream it up.” For his part, Murray joked after the win: “I don’t know what to do with myself. Holy cow, I think I can die now.”
